Valdor braves the storm and the winds embrace him.

Valdor is the RPC of a friend in Nannymud. Pastels on black paper.

Here by way of the tour.

A fine vibrant image! I enjoy the strong composition, and the repetition of form between the cloak and trees. Great color choices. An excellent lesson in building atmosphere! I also like seeing someone unafraid to work pastels with with a strong line.

Very nicely done, Cristina! 2

:-) Cristina Marsi replies: "Oh, the tour! I actually had forgotten about it. That explains why this picture is getting so many comments recently 12 Anyway, thanks for stopping by and spending your time in leaving a few words. Not sure if that repetition of form was something planned, just hand moving freely on paper. As i said previously, this is a very early work, I hope i can get more from my pastels now -no fantasy though so dont look for it in this gallery-. Anyway I'm still happy with it 2"

Wow, it's awesome! I love the textures of the fabric and the trees. The lightning is pretty cool too. the left foot is a little small looking, but I think it is just the angle. Great job!

:-) Cristina Marsi replies: "Thank you 2 Although it is becoming old, it is still one of my favourites. Alas i know about the feet problem, working on it and hopefully managed to do better in more recent pieces 2"

Another striking piece Cristina. I love the bold colors and the textures. You have depicted movement in this picture well. Wonderful piece!

WOW! I love the work starting off with a black sheet of paper and makeing a great color drawing in the end takes lots of talent.

This is a great picture! I love the look and feel of it. I also really like how you can see each stroke, and each one is meaningful and windy.

I love the detail in this picture. Your use of yellows is surperb to show the reflection of the lightning. You do very well with such a tricky medium.

I love the simplicity of this! It works so well, with the storm and lightning. His cloak looks like it's really being buffeted by the wind. Wonderful. Looks almost like a woodcut. Very classic.
