actually I do have to agree, he does kind of look like he's trying to take a peek under her dress. Or, ok...maybe he's admiring the dress? Gnomes do like good craftsmanship.

This is a very nice, sweet drawing. I always imagined that Thumbalina was a young teenager when she met the toad. A toad proposing to a small child seems odd.
That cat must be tiny, but it is nice in the picture.
