...Die schönste Jungfrau sitzet
Dort oben wunderbar,
Ihr goldenes Geschmeide blitzet,
Sie kämmt ihr goldenes Haar.

Sie kämmt es mit goldenem Kamme
Und singt ein Lied dabey;
Das hat eine wundersame,
Gewaltige Melodei.

Den Schiffer, im kleinen Schiffe,
Ergreift es mit wildem Weh;
Er schaut nicht die Felsenriffe,
Er schaut nur hinauf in die Höh´...
(H.Heine)

...The loveliest maiden is sitting
High-throned in yon blue air,
Her golden jewels are shining,
She combs her golden hair;.

She combs with comb that is golden,
And sings a weird refrain
That steeps in a deadly enchantment
The listener's ravished brain:

The doomed in his drifting shallop,
Is tranced with the sad sweet tone,
He sees not the yawing breakers,
He sees but the maid alone:...
(translation by M.Twain)

Update June, 15th 2007: Continuing the project of substituting old and quite naif pictures with something new and hopefully better.

The old painting got ruined in a flood btw, so now it exists just on my HD and maybe on some old art site ;)

Hey Cristina,
This is really beautiful, and it is so great to see one of your Nanny chars on here.
I really like the colours, I wish I could use paints of any kind. I seem to have this irrational fear of them! 1
See you soon.
*hugs and kisses*

:-) Cristina Marsi replies: "Hi Laysha! To be honest this one is not my Nanny char, she is the _real_ one. In Nanny I actually stole her name for my char 12"

Great use of colour, Cristina. All in all, nice use of paint and brush work. Great painting!

:-) Cristina Marsi replies: "Thank you, Alex 2 Actually more than brushes i used spatulas, just messed around with coulours until i came up with something vaguely resembling what i had in mind 2 Your comment is very encouraging, thanks again 2"

Hey Chris. Just as all your work, I love this one too. I love the style you had in this one. Is it the same as you had in 'Sunbathing'? The Sunbathing and this one is my two favourites. And btw, I have actually been taking up my painting skills again. No Nannystuff yet, but I will get there 2 *snuggles*

Oo my favourite
lovely little-blobs style
the girl is so flighty looking
and sprightly looking
lovely hair
this kind of style always mystifies me
like youre making an image with fairly big blobs of paint
and yet its all there
and looks fantastic
love the landscape
all the colour
a pleasure to look at

With such rounded buttocks, there is no surprise that the poor sailors get wicked! LOL
Very nice details and great composition! Your new version is beautifully achieved, Cristina.
