Spina de Mul -whose name means Donkey Skeleton- is a character in the Fanes saga, well known in the Dolomytes. He is a shaman/wizard/shapeshifter, so called because he can morph into a half decomposed donkey corpse. The gem he is holding his the Rajeta, his most precious treasure, whose loss will cause the defeat of the Fanes.

Colored pencils (Derwent Colorsoft) on Fabriano drawing paper. 30*40 cm.

As a half undead donkey he would run though villages giving people either a heart attack or permanent insanity.

But then the ground turned sour on that hill and the indians didn't use it anymore.
