Done for a school project: a musical based on "The Lord of the Rings". I was specifically asked for a ogre/dwarf ? blacksmith workshop with ogres/dwarves? getting ready for war... I really can't remember such a scene in the first book (musical is supposed to end at Lothlorien) and very vaguely in the second one where ogres are indeed preparing for war, but it is an outdoor scene. I tried to point this to the collegue who is wrinting  the script, but without result...

Who knows? maybe she is right and I am wrong. In that case help me remember and point me to the right scene.

Anyway is was fun to do and I spent on it much more time than i wanted. Watercolor pencils on drawing paper. Approx 30*40 cm.

And yes, I know some shadows are definitely wrong ;)

Unfortunately I can't upload the rest of the drawings  for this project on EW since they are plain landscapes (Hey i can't put characters in a scenery!). So if you want to see them visit my gallery at

I don't think the shadow are bad. Perhaps on the wall on the background? But it is not evident at all. Good work. I especially like how you did the chains.

Yes, there are some wrong shadows here and there especially in the stones, but the textures are very good. I like the composition too and the two figures in the front, they are very good. This must have been hell of a job to do. Also the colouring and the anatomy is good.
