This time Camelot was attacked from the sea. Viking ships approached the beach, their decks full of warriors looking for blood and loot. But Dain Ironfoot was there and poor vikings had not a chance ;)
Done for a friend in Nannymud. Dain is his char, but I'm just unable to imagine him as a dwarf, which explains the human looking.

NOTE: if the runes in the viking's clothing have any meaning, only the viking knows, and from the look of it he is not going to tell anyone in the nearest future ;) So consider them just a decoration ;)

Greetings Kristoffer,

it seems you have some nanny knowledge, but if you don't belive Cristina, well feel free to log in and join me in a crusade or viking beach attack and you'll see with your own eye what she ment.

You know, I just might create my own account and upload my pictures of vikings and norse Gods, so you can see with your own eyes just how powerful they really are, and how easily they slaughter knights and giants and other feeble creatures 12

:-) Cristina Marsi replies: "Oh, please do it 2 I'm looking forward to see your work. And then maybe we can have a Knight vs. Viking contest... I totally trust my Champions though 12"

It is a very well done picture. The backround is beautifully done, as well as the humans and the color. The only problem I see with it is the position of the Viking. If he had just(?) been slashed across the stomach, he wouldn't be laying like that. Anyways, it is a very well done picture.

:-) Cristina Marsi replies: "Thank you! You are right, but you see, when I did this picture I didnt feel so violent to let poor viking die so horribly. The idea of a slash across the stomach didnt even touch my mind... Now that you make me notice I realize that this is what others see, but at the time the only concession to reality i felt ready to do was the blood on the blade. 12"

WOW! Now only if MY math teacher could draw like this!!
You draw all the stuff I'm into, so your my hero now * hug*
My math teacher draws stick people. * rolls her eyes at her math teacher* Go figure!
( Im a 7th grader by the way lol..)

Loove the pic...its soooooooooo awesome! I can NEVER
get my maile to look like yours, and my plate armor..
well, lets just edge around that, shall we? lol.
I agree with Karolina, the way you draw the metal is just
beautiful! I must come back more often...and send my math teacher a link to here! LOL!

:-) Cristina Marsi replies: "Thanks! If only my pupils would consider me their hero as well... everything would be much easier 2 Anyway, I'm happy you appreciate this picture, I think the colouring turned out pretty good, although there might be some faults in the figure proportions... Hoping to see you back soon, and your teacher as well 12"

To the previous commenter, two words: Artistic License.

To the artist: I think this is an excellent picture. The coloring is fantastic. I'm terrible at drawing perspective, especially on people, so I can't tell if the positions are good or not. I defer to a higher authority. 2 My only critique of your piece is that I think the Viking looks slightly feminine (I'm not sure I could explain why, it's just something about the body shape). Please don't kill me! It's only slight. Other than that, I love the picture!

:-) Cristina Marsi replies: "Hehe. No I will not kill you, although i checked picture again and cant find any feminine aspect in that body 2 But even if there was any, who said that all viking fighters must be male? 12Thank you for your appreciation and your support 2"

No wonder the so called viking is losing the fight. He's not a real viking. If you'd done your homework you'd known that vikings did not have horns on their helmets. That loser is evidently an ill informed imposter. A pathetic wannabe 14

:-) Cristina Marsi replies: "LOL, I'm afraid I was a bit careless in doing my homework and stuck to the usual cliché. Thanks for visiting and commenting 2"

Lol, this picture seems to have caused a lot of controversy! I must just say though, that regardless of historical fact, in Nanny, the Knights always beat the Vikings!
I like the Viking's body position, he seems to be pleading for his life. Dain looks very calm though...I almost picture him shouting something...
Anyway keep it up Cristina, this is excellent as usual. 2
Laysha. xx

:-) Cristina Marsi replies: "Wheeeee, Nanny knights simply rock!"

Hm.

Why is the Vikinv not armoured? That's a severe oversight.

:-) Cristina Marsi replies: "Alas poor viking! I'm afraid you are right, but you see, Camelot in summer can be kinda hot and underestimating knights forces, he left his armour aboard.Besides, I'm not that good at drawing battle outfits, and the naked torso looked much cooler 12"

There's been a lot of comments (let me just slip my agreement with the positive ones in here), but nothing on the ship in the background.
There's something rather odd about the sail. At first glance it looks like the wind is coming from port. Then you look at the ropes from the mast to the dragonhead and realize it must be on the staboard side of the sail. And then you look at Dain's flowing robe and hair. The wind there is in the opposite direction (like a good hero he has the wind in his face, of course. 12)
Another detail about the ship is the number of shields on the side. Usually, this is where the rowers would place their shields while rowing. That makes for a very short ship, with but three rowers to a side.
But let it be said that I like the ship. It just ends up looking so short, and with a bewildering sail.
Oh, just another note: Horns on helmets was out of fashion already when the iron age began. In Scandinavia at least, horns are a bronze age phenomenon.
Oh, one last thing: Isn't Dain Ironfoot, the hero of the Battle of Five Armies and the Siege of the Lonely Mountain a dwarf?

:-) Cristina Marsi replies: "Thank you so much for your wise comment. I never claimed to be historically (or even physically)correct, but it is a pleasure to learn for your notes. You are of course perfectly right about everything, but let me state that this picture is based on a char friend in Nannymud. Nanny is a world were all players are humans by default, so even if he choose a dwarf name, Dain must be human. Besides I am utterly unable to imagine a dwarf-sized young hero hehe 2Also, physics works differently in Nanny so you can have such weird wind phenomena 12 And as for history just let me say that you can fight a tyrannosaurus rex and a few minutes later relax and have a chat with a 18th century young lady 12Yup, it is a weird world, but funny, and you should come and visit 2"
